An iconic city, an iconic Spanish celebrity and those iconic ears. The challenge: put them all together in under 15 minutes to create an iconic photo.

When Disney asked us to photograph L.A. Laker Pau Gasol in New York City with Mickey Mouse ears as part of the anniversary celebration for their most famous character, we jumped at the chance. The catch? We would only have Gasol for 15 minutes. And we knew we wanted something that stretched the boundaries of the typical NYC snapshot.

It was off to Central Park, where, after overcoming initial protests from the Gasol camp, we worked some camera magic to create the illusion of this sports giant taking a mighty leap off some rocks, bouncing high with some basketballs and those ears front and center.
